The most wonderful scenery is left for the most adventurists. This lifetime journey takes you to conquer the peak of the world. Before that, you will spend several days in Lhasa and Shigatse to soak up Tibetan Culture.
Day 1 Lhasa Arrival
Welcome to Lhasa, the roof of the world! Our tour guide will pick you up at airport or train station and escort you to hotel in Lhasa city. On the way, you can enjoy breathtaking viewsalong the YarlongTsangpo River, and most Tibetan natures can be seen.
After arrival at your hotel, the remainder of day is at leisure for you to adapt yourself to the high altitude by some small walk. Don’t take a shower in the first night and drink more water will be helpful to avoidaltitude sickness.
Day 2 Lhasa ( B )
After breakfast, you will be arranged to visit the magnificent Potala Palace, a symbol of Tibetan architecture, with an elevation of 3,700m. Walk along the stairs, you can overlook the Lhasa City and discover this treasure of Tibetan Buddhism by collecting a great quantity of sculptures, murals, scripture and other precious cultural relics.
Later transfer to Jokhang Temple, the center of Tibetan Buddhism activities, to experience theintense religiosity by witnessing countlessdevout pilgrimsprostrate themselves to the ground repeatedly in every single day. Then join the locals to the Barkor Street nearby and find some souvenirs or relax in a coffee shop.
Day 3 Lhasa ( B )
Today you will first to visit Norbulingka Park, once was the summer palace of Dalai Lama. Now this ancient gardens with tree-lined is perfect to experience Tibetan Custom with locals.
Then head to Drepung Monastery to gaze at the biggest Tibetan Buddhist monastery with splendid architectural complex and watch the famous and typical “Buddhism Scriptures Debating” only in Sera Monastery.
Day 4 Lhasa – Gyantse - Shigatse ( B )
After breakfast, you’ll be drove to Gyantse. Before get there, visit Yamdrok Lake to see the fabulous shade of turquoise reflected in the deep blue water. Then drive forward to see the mysterious Karola Glacier from a distance.
After arrival in Gyantse, you can visit the Palkor Monastery, featuring a typical architecture of Kubum Stupa with 35m high and 3 sects’ culture mixed into one. Later, drive to the second largest city in Tibet – Shigatse and put up for the night.
Day 5 Shigatse – Tingri – Rongbuk Monastery ( B )
Today you will reach Tashilumpo Monastery, the seat of the Panchen Lama and see the biggest Future Buddha statue in the world and find the majestic Panchen Lama grave. Then transfer to Tingri County to visit Rongbuk Monastery, at the foot of Mount Everest. If the time is right you will witness exclamatory sunset of Everest standing in this highest monastery. Prepare enough food and cloth and stay overnight at tent or guest house near Rongbuk Monastery.
Day 6 Mt. Everest – Tingri - Lhatse ( B )
After an early breakfast, you will head for Everest Base camp, 8 km away from Rongbuk Monastery to appreciate the featured visions of Mt. Everest: the spectacular sunrise with floating clouds and ice-covered peaks during 6:30-7:00am.
Having a enjoy feast for the eyes, time to have a long-distance driving, first to Tingri, then to Lhatse (lunch on the way). When arrive in Lhatse, have a good rest and soak some local culture if you can. Stay overnight in Lhatse.
Day 7 Lhatse – Lhasa ( B )
Today’s schedule is mainly on the rough road back to Lhasa. But the roadside scenery is pretty good. You can enjoy Yarlung zangbu River view along the way. If you want to get a closer looking, just ask driver to stop alongside.
Day 8 Lhasa Departure ( B )

Today you are free until your tour guide transfers you to the airport or Lhasa train station to catch your next destination.
